Sometimes the best vacations are the ones that make you completely unplug from everything…the ones that bring you closer to nature and give you a better appreciation for the world around you. Summer is the best time to go camping because you don’t have to worry about cold weather! Here’s why we know you will love spending your summer vacation at our campground:
1. Dew in the Morning
One of the best things about waking up in the morning when you go camping is the smell of dew in the air. And sometimes your pillow will smell like that all day! Plus, if you’re one of those people that likes to sleep on the cold side of the pillow, when it’s covered in morning dew you’re a winner all around! Just remember to bring enough shoes and a few extra pairs of socks! It’s all worth it for the fresh morning air!
It really is the simple things in life sometimes. A campfire is great to cook your meals and to make the best treat ever, s’mores, but the smell of a hot campfire is amazing. If you’re outdoorsy, you’ll know exactly what we mean. Plus, the embers whirling through the air have their own kind of allure to them. Remember to put your fires out before you go to bed! It would also be a good idea to have a light jacket with you. When the sky is clear and you can see every star in the sky, you’re guaranteed a cool night ahead of you!
3. Camping Cabins
For those who may be a bit worried about tent camping, worry no more! We have camping cabins available for rent. You get all of the basic amenities of the campground with a few extra included in the cabin. You can expect a covered porch, room to sleep 5 and air conditioning if the idea of sleeping in the summer heat isn’t your cup of tea. 4. Mountain Water
We couldn’t leave the best thing out! The ice-cold mountain water is the best way to cool off on a hot summer day. Our campgrounds have access to the river! You can also go kayaking down the river’s glossy surface or even bring your river recreation equipment. Not only that, but summer is the best time to go fishing in the mountains or even whitewater rafting with Smoky Mountain Outdoors!
If you’re going to visit the mountains, you’d better do it right. Camping is exciting and can teach valuable life skills in the process. Camping in the Smoky Mountains can also teach everyone a deeper appreciation for nature and wildlife. You can get a taste of what life was like before all of the modern amenities, but don’t worry, we do have internet access so you can update your social media and let everyone know how great a time you’re having. Come visit us this summer and don’t forget the marshmallows! Click here to check out our campground and make your reservation.
