2. Appalachian Trail is Just 5 Miles Away

We know that many hikers have the Appalachian Trail on their bucket list, but the hard part is finding the time to hike this epic trail that runs for nearly 2,200 miles from Maine to Georgia! The awesome news is that 94 of those miles are right here in Tennessee, and you’ll find that the trail cuts across Interstate 40 just 5 miles east of our campground! This is your chance to experience part of the most famous trail in the United States, and there is parking for several cars just off Waterville Road at I-40, exit 451.
