One of the things that campers love most about staying at our campground is the perfect location! Although we are situated among the beauty of the Smoky Mountains, our campground is just a short drive to several towns where you can find all kinds of exciting activities to enjoy! Whether you are camping with your family, a bunch of friends or a scout group, you will love the convenient access to these popular destinations! Here are 4 fun towns within a short drive of our campground in the Smokies:
1.Sevierville TN
One of the fun towns within a short drive of our campground in the Smokies is Sevierville TN, which is considered the gateway to the Great Smoky Mountains area! While some folks tend to drive right through town with their GPS set on Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg, Sevierville is actually home to quite a few fantastic attractions on its own! This is where you will find Forbidden Caverns, a spectacular show cave where you can experience an entertaining and educational underground tour! Some of the other top sites in Sevierville include the Rainforest Adventures Zoo, Smoky Mountain Deer Farm and NASCAR SpeedPark.
2. Pigeon Forge TN
When staying at our campground in the Smokies, you won’t want to miss the chance to spend at least one day exploring the town of Pigeon Forge TN! This is the home of Dollywood, the famous theme park that is filled with award winning shows, gravity defying thrill rides and unique souvenir shops! This the perfect place for those who want to enjoy higher elevations as there are several mountain top amusement parks, including Ober Gatlinburg, Anakeesta and Gatlinburg SkyLift Park! The town is also known for Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies, as well as the Gatlinburg Space Needle, Hollywood Star Cars Museum, and Gatlin’s Fun Center.
4. Maggie Valley NC
For those who want to take a scenic drive over the border into North Carolina, head down to the town of Maggie Valley NC! This adorable small town is known for its gorgeous location and unique character mixed with plenty of southern hospitality!
